The outgoing Football Kenya Federation (FKF) boss Mr. Sam Nyamweya has congratulated Mr. Nick Mwendwa on his election as the new supremo of the Kenyan FA.
Speaking immediately after Nick was declared the duely elected president of FKF, Nyamwaya promised to smoothly hand over power to the new office.
“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate my small brother Nick on his victory; I want to assure him and the new team of my support, and advice. I want to also assure the country that I will smoothly handover power to the new office.” Nyamweya said.
Nyamweya who has been at the helm of the body for the past four years opted not to defend his seat, hence reducing the race to just two candidates, after three others had pulled out yesterday.
37-year old Mwendwa who is also the chairman of second division side Kariobangi Sharks managed to bag 50 votes, handing his only challenger Ambrose Rachier a resounding defeat. Rachier, Gor Mahia and KPL chairman managed just 27 votes.
