Ugandan Coach Sam Timbe has reported his former employer Sofapaka to the world football governing body FIFA for failing to honor his contract.
Timbe who is currently with Police FC in the Uganda Premier League after his two year deal with “Batoto Ba Mungu” lapsed mid this year, wants FIFA to compel the cash strapped Kenyan side to pay his salary arrears of three months amounting to USD 15,000. He also wants part of his sign on fee totaling USD 5,000 cleared by the club.
“We humbly introduce Mr. Sam Timbe. A Ugandan and Confederation of Africa Federation “A” license (No. KEN – A – 21 – 0154 – 0614) holder. We seek to interest your office in a matter where Sofapaka FC hired Mr. Timbe in August 2013 on a two year deal to guide the same club as head coach in various competitions.” Reads part of the letter to FIFA.
On top, Timbe seeks to have the club pay any costs and general damages related to the matter.
The 2009 Kenyan Champions have been undergoing a rough patch financially and have been struggling to pay salaries and allowances of players and staff.
