TP Mazembe of the Congo DR are through to the final of the 2015 CAF Champions league after an aggregate 4-2 win over Sudanese side Al Merreikh following a 3-0 win today in Lubumbashi.
Mazembe were trailing the Sudanese giants 2-1 in the first leg of the semi final and needed only a goal to sail through.
Tanzanian international Mbwana Ally Samata continued with his fine form in the Championships scoring a brace in the 53rd and 69th minutes with Ivorian Roger Assale completing the rout in the 79th minute.
After a goalless draw in the first half,Mazembe pushed foward and were rewarded with the opener nine minutes into the second half following an assist from Adama Traore.The Tanzanian was at it again in the 69th minute to complete his brace.
Ivorian Roger Assale sealed the win to help the lubumbashi club set a final match with Algerian USM Alger,who are making their first appearance.
In the other semi final played yesterday,Al Hilal of Sudan forced USM Alger of Algeria to a goalless draw away but bowed out 1-2 on aggregate after losing the first leg 1-2 in Omdurman
