Tanzania’s Taifa Stars team continues to practice at Mkapa City Stadium in Dar es Salaam to prepare a friendly game on FIFA Calendar against Burundi on Sunday October 11, 2020 at 10 pm.
Head coach Etienne Ndayiragije named a strong squad as Tanzania hope to make some good use of the FIFA window to prepare for their back to back 2021 AFCON Qualifying fixtures against Tunisia.
Tanzania will play the Carthage Eagles in Tunisia on November 13, before hosting them later on 17 November.
Mbwana Samatta who recently joined Turkish club Fenerbahce leads a squad that has the likes of John Bocco, Shomari Kapombe, Mohamed Hussein all of Simba SC, Israel Mwenda (KMC FC), Brayson David, Abdallah Sebo (Azam FC) and Bakari Mwamnyeto (Yanga SC).
Announcing the squad led by Head Coach Etienne Ndairagije, TFF Information Officer Clifford Mario Ndimbo said the squad is looking forward to meeting the Burundian national team (‘ntamba m’rugamba’) in a friendly match on Sunday October 11, 2020 at the Mkapa Jijini Dar es Salaam.
The friendly match between hosts Tanzania (Taifa Stars) and Burundi is going to be open to the public to watch and tickets have since gone on sale.
This is in spite of the prevailing health conditions regarding the coronavirus pandemic protocols which require football matches to be played behind closed doors.
Tanzania is a bit more relaxed and has opened up stadiums to from the time football restarted in the country.
