Samuel Eto’o would have given millions of Francs to the press to buy the silence of some journalists who have known about the four-times African footballer of the year case aganist Cameroonian entreprenuer and socialite Nathalie Koah before it was publicized, according to ‘Le Messager’ journalist,Souley Onohiolo.
In a revelation that opens another page of the case that Koah filed against Eto’o for sharing her nude photos online thirteen years ago, the journalist in an interview with Canal 2 International on Sunday claimed that the Cameroonian International paid 12million CFA Francs to a Roger Chantal Tuile who was then La Tribune Newspaper managing editor so as not to publicize the case.
And when contacted on the same football show the La Tribune editor,Tuile acknowledged having received 5million CFA Francs from socialite but not from E’too.
“I was contacted by this young lady Nathalie Koah.At the time, she was extremely threatened and wanted to talk about her business,”said Tuile.
“I invited the Publication Director and all we received $500 million each to make her business public.Three days later i was contacted by Eto’o where we talked but i did not receive money from him,”concluded Tuile.
Eto’o did not attend any of the 2004 court hearings, but instead went ahead to also file a complain against his then concubine, for duping him of 200 Million Francs and stealing a Rolex watch from him.
Eto’o used his financial muscles, to obtain an amicable settlement, but Nathalie later went ahead to narrate her own side of the story in her book ‘Revenge Porn’ that Eto’o dribbled the court’s jury to ban from publication and commercialization, because according to him, it was and intrusion into his personal life.
The drama was finally settled after the player silenced the fourth estate and apologized to the public but latest development puts questions in role played by Cameroonian media in the case.
