SC Villa on Tuesday beat Kiira Young by a solitary goal at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Namboole,Kampala when former old boy and Uganda U23 left back Fred Nkata scored an own goal.
However, the celebrations were cut shot with the Uganda League Disciplinary Committee deducting 2 points from SC Villa who had accumulated 64 points after the win and were were a point ahead of Vipers(formerly SC Bunamwaya). The 2 point loss came as a result of their 1-1 draw against Uganda Revenue Authority, who were instead awarded the match after the former were found guilty of fielding a player who had been booked three times.
Earlier on Kiira Young had hiked the entry free in their match against SC Villa to Ush 50,000 and Ush 20,000 for VIP and Terrace respectively causing protests from the Visiting team, SC Villa. The gate charges however were reduced to Ush 20,000 and Ush 5000 respectively.
SC Villa could be headed to lose more points should Entebbe Young’s petition against them for fielding a player who had accumulated three yellow cards goes through. This saga is to advantage Viper who now tops the Azam Uganda league standings with 63 points, one ahead of Villa with two matches to go.
This Friday clash however could determine who between Vipers or SC Villa lift the crown as the two teams meet in what will be a mouth watering clash.
