Zanaco forward  Saith Sakala is scoring goals for fun in the FAZ Super Division as he tries to help the club to the title.

Speaking exclusively to Soka25east.com tonight, Sakala says that he is happy to play his part and score goals for Zanaco.

“It feels great because as a striker my job is to score and if I do that then I know that I have performed my duty as a striker more especially for a big club like Zanaco. When you are put on the pitch you are expected to score so it’s comforting and it keeps me in the team,” Sakala said.

The former NAPSA man has scored 4 goals in the last 2 games for Zanaco and was on target in the 2-0 win against Nchanga Rangers over the weekend. We had a chat with Sakala and this is what he had to say.

Soka25east.com: In a few words, who is Saith Sakala?

Sakala: Saith is a humble young man raised in a Christian home in Chilenje, Lusaka, with both parents still alive. I Love spending time with friends.

Soka25east.com: How did you end up playing football?

Sakala: I started playing football since I was just a Boy  because our house is just  next to a play Park so we would always spend our free time playing soccer with my friends until I joined Happy Hearts football academy by then it was called Tigers and started playing in the under 8 side until when I was under 17 up to the time we were promoted to  2nd division. I was the captain of the team.

Soka25east.com: Interesting to hear that you have quite the footballing background. Tell us have you ever thought of anything you could have been doing apart from football?

Sakala: Apart from football I would love to be a Basketballer.

Soka25east.com: Tells us a bit about your career at Zanaco? How does it feel to play under such a great club and legendary coach like Numba Mumamba?

Sakala: Playing for Zanaco is part of my dream come true, It has always been my prayer to play for one of Zambia’s biggest club and it’s really a challenge because Zanaco has so many good players. So it takes extra hard work for you to be in the first team each and every day in training you need to perform up to par, and it feels wonderful to player under one of Zambia’s great footballers and coach.

Soka25east.com: Any special someone in your life?

Sakala: Yes I have a fiance who is always supportive and encouraging we are actually getting married on the 13th of this month (August). Tina is her name.

Soka25east.com: Finally Saith, what are your ambitions as a footballer?

Sakala: Like I mentioned earlier playing for Zanaco is part of my dream come true, that simply tells you that I am not satisfied with what I have achieved so far. I always pray to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs in Europe. That’s why I always bring out my best at each level of my career from my ten years at happy hearts to NAPSA and here at Zanaco working very hard see myself at the next level soonest.
