Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly interested in signing South African international midfielder George Maluleka.
Rangers have scouted the 30-year-old Kaizer Chiefs midfielder with a view to a January move.
Rangers are one club “in particular” who are keeping a close eye on the robust defensive midfielder.
George Maluleka is a powerful midfielder who has six caps for the South African national side.
With his contract expiring at the end of the summer, Maluleka would be available for a cut-price fee should any clubs move for the player next month.
Rangers are blessed with a range of midfield talents but it could be argued the club lack a physical, forceful presence in the middle of the park.
The South African report claims Rangers watched the midfielder during Kaizer Chief’s recent 4-0 hammering of Stellenbosch FC.
Maluleka’s agent spoke to www.soka35east.com about his client’s future.
“It’s a delicate situation at the moment. Call me in the new year and we can have a proper conversation,” said Shaun Roberts.
“At the moment, George is happy at Kaizer Chiefs and obviously playing well and is a regular.
“I think we can sort of have a conversation properly in the new year.”

Should Rangers move for the midfielder, what would that say about the future of Greg Docherty?
The former Hamilton midfielder has struggled for game time this season .
