SCVU will battle Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards in the finals of the inaugural CECAFA Nile Basin championship after defeating Sudanese side Al Shandy on Monday evening.

Youthful striker Muzamir Mutyaba who had returned to the side after sitting out the quarterfinal due to suspension brilliantly curled a low shot into goal in the 78th minute to send the club in the finals scheduled for Wednesday.

SCVU will now face AFC Leopards who saw off Burundian side Academie Tchite 2-0 in the other semi final.

The champion will bag home with a cheque worth USD 30 000 (Approximately Ush 75 million) accompanied with a trophy while the runners up will smile away with USD 20 000 ((Approximately Ush 50 million).

Third finishers that will be decided between Academie and Al Shandy will win USD 10 000 (Approximately Ush 25m).
