Egypt young Pharaohs came into the game needing a win after collecting only one point from their previous two games following an embarrassing display.
But the Egyptians endured a painful evening against a mighty Teranga Lions as Pape Diop grabbed a hat-trick in the 59th, 73rd and 76th minute and Ibou Sane completed the rout in the 69th minute.
Already-qualified Senegal were cautious at the beginning of the game as the hosts were pushing forward to get a goal and boost their hopes, but they couldn’t create much of a threat.
It did not take long for the visitors to stamp their authority, but they had to wait until the 59th minute to get a deserved lead from Pape Diop after capitalising on a quick counter attack.
Ten minutes later, defender Omar Fayed gave away possession, allowing Sane to break clear and fire from inside the box.
The goal dealt a huge blow to the team, and Diop rubbed more salt into the wound with two more goals in three minutes after sending two headers past keeper Mostafa Makhlouf from corners.
The Egyptians finished bottom of their group with just one point and an unwanted record of not scoring a goal in three games.
