By Administrator,

Coach Ljubo Petrovick nicknamed ”Ljupko” has outlined his objectives if appointed Ethiopia coach the man who for 16 years was a professional football player in Yugoslavian clubs and in USA clubs (Major Soccer League)
For more than 30 years he has worked   in 10 countries with  20 clubs and in  3 different  continents being  Europe,South America,Asia in addition to speaking seven languages that include Bosnia,Serbian,Croatian,Montenegrin,English,Greek,Bulgarian and Spanish.

Ljubo an holder of Uefa Pro coaching license studied at  University of Novi Sad  graduated  and became Bachelor’s of Physical Education   (Professional football Coaching) after that 1996 Master’s Degree in Physical Education and finally . PhD  in  Physical Education at University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina)  at 2010

Asked why he chose Ethiopia Ljubo was categorical and straight forward.

“I have worked all over the world, but I always looking for a new challenge in football, especially in the countries who have big potential and who can achieve better results in near future. I think that Ethiopia is a perfect place for achieving new and better results in all football segments”
“Ethiopia have long football traditions and this is one of the African countries who are pioneer of international competitions in Africa. Football is sport no 1 in Ethiopia, and this is a very important factors, when you have “deep football roots” and when you have huge support from your people”
“Of course, every National football team have their good and bad periods, the same situation is with Walia. Ethiopia was champion of African Cup of Nations (at early’s 60) but also almost 20 years didn’t participate in African Cup Of Nation until 2013”
“I must to mention also, that am not a first coach from this region who showing desire to lead Walia. On of the creator of best results in Ethiopian football history (when Ethiopia was won African Cup of Nation) is a Yugoslavian coach Slavko Milosevic who was lead Walia 1961 and 1962. and I put a mission to my self,to achieve good result with Walia.
“Success of the National team starting the “chain reaction”, increases the quality of the entire national football in all areas, as a top of the national football pyramid of the country, also football is one of the best ambassadors of the country, on the continent and in the world”
“I know that most of the players from the National team are from domestic league. One of the main task of the long term plan, is to create a large scouting network and to find players all over the world (originating from the region of Ethiopia) who have experience and who play in stronger league,to reinforce National team, positive competition into a national team, who will create positive atmosphere in the squad and to build strong wining spirit”
“Another task of the long term plan is creating a base (National football academy) who will create players by world top standard. Now I will give you one example. Serbia who have only 7.200.000 inhabitants is a 2nd largest exporter of the players in the world. Serbia have 2nd best youth football academy in Europe and lot of player in 5 TOP leagues in the world. If Serbia can achieve that with only 7.000.000 inhabitants, just imagine potential of Ethiopia who have  92.000.000 inhabitants, with properly work and creating long-term national football development strategy”Ljubo told Soka25east.com
