By Corazon Amor,
There was shock and disbelief as Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne dropped the leading Kenyan Premier League top scorer 2018/19 season Allan Wanga from his squad for the Africa Cup of Nations heading to France for training camp.
www.soka25east.com has exclusively learnt that instead Migne called Wanga and told him to prepare for CHAN for the locally based players a sort of abuse for a player who has been in the form of his life this season.
A close source has intimated to www.soka25east.com that Allan Wanga is set to retire from International football this evening having been dejected by the news of his dropping from the national team Harambee Stars.
The Exclusion of Wanga was met by criticism across the social media platforms with many questioning how fair it was dropping the best player and instead including a non-attached player like Masoud who has been off colour for many months after being dropped from every club he has joined since leaving Kariobangi Sharks.
The 27-man squad that leaves for France on Friday where the team is expected to camp for 19 days before the Cup of Nations showdown in Egypt. Stars start their campaign on June 23 against Algeria in Group C – which also has Senegal and Tanzania.
The others who have been dropped from the team are AFC Leopards midfielder Whyvonne Isuza and Kariobangi Sharks goalkeeper Brian Bwire.
