Tanzanian giants Simba SC rallied from behind to complete a memorable 3:2 comeback against league side Mbao FC.
Mbao FC settled early in the match and scored their first goal in the 20th minute courtesy of George Sangija before Bernard Evergerist added the second in the 58th minute to pile more pressure on the Msimbazi faithful.
Cameroonian tactician Paul Omog made changes to his squad in the second half bringing on Said Ndelma for Pastory Athanas, Laudit Mavugo for Hamad Juma and Frederick Blagnon for Juma Liuzio.
The changes paid off as Simba pulled one back courtesy of Ghanaian midfielder James Kotei before substitute Ivory coast striker Frederick Blagnon equalized for Simba to send the crowd at the CCM Kirumba stadium in Mwanza into a frenzy.
Simba completed the comeback in the dying minutes of the match when Yassin Mzamiru fired home to bag the match’s maximum points.
The win takes to the top of table standings with 58 points, two points above their arch rivals Yanga SC.
