Defending Champions Al Ahly’s suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tanzania’s Simba SC in the second fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage on Tuesday afternoon.
The match was held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania, which saw high levels of humidity and very hot weather.
Simba SC took advantage of playing at home in front of their fans and scored their winning goal in the 31st minute through Luís Miquissone.
The visiting side tried to equalize the score before the end of the 90 minutes, but they were faced by a strong opponent, Simba SC, who managed to win the match.
The Red Eagles achieved a precious 3-0 victory over Sudan’s Al Merrikh SC in the opening match of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Al Ahly’s football first team delegation headed by the club’s board member, Mohamed El Damaty will now depart for Cairo on Wednesday night.
