World governing body FIFA has fined Tanzania’s Simba SC Tshs 4.5M for defying orders by the organization’s Disputes Resolution Chamber.
The committee sat in Zurich on April 20 at a cost of Tshs 1.2M, a bill also passed to the club to pay.
Simba was directed to pay Kenya defender Donald Mosoti Omanua damages for breach of contract after he was unceremoniously dropped by the club before maturity of his term.
Mosoti through his lawyer Elvis Majani complained to FIFA and was awarded USD 29,250 for the remainder of the contract he signed during the 2014/15 season, and a further USD 600 part of his sign on fee.
Mosoti who currently plays for Nakumatt FC in the National Super League will pay his lawyer USD 2000 legal fee.
Simba will have to comply within 30 days from today May 3 failure to which they will be deducted three league points, a further non compliance after the 30 days will see the club relegated to the second tier league next season.
The FA on the other hand hand have been directed to ensure compliance failure to which Tanzania could be suspended from taking part in international competitions.
