Simba Sports Club bagged all three points with an emphatic 3-0 home win against debutants Gwambina FC in the Vodacom Mainland Tanzanian Premier League on Saturday.
As usual, Simba displayed top quality football all round.
Intentions of winning the match was made clear right from the start making numerous attacks but Gwambina FC goalkeeper Mohammed Makaka saved his team from blemish.
Medie Kagere broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a glancing header finishing off a well taken Luis Miquissone corner.
There was a rare goal for centre-back Pascal Wawa in the 50th minute with a low ferocious free-kick which as awarded after Rally Bwalya was fouled just outside the penalty box.
The second goal pushed the defending Champions asking more questions in the Gwambina FC goalmouth as they kept on dominating the match.
Chris Mugalu who came off the bench in place of goal-scorer Kagere also found the back of the net for the third goal thanks to Bernard Morrison sublime pass.
The results take Simba to the second position in the league standings with 10 points, two behind Azam having played four games. Simba’s next match is against JKT Tanzania on Sunday October 4 with kick off set for 16:00 EAT.
