In a twitter post on their official handle, Sony Sugar FC management promised to stick by head coach Leonard Odipo amid claims of sabotage at the Awendo side.
“This is to assure fans that Leonard Odipo is still the Head Coach of Sony Sugar FC. Odipo has the full support of the club’s management.” The tweet reads.
The assurances came after a meeting between Odipo and the management yesterday – the former Tusker FC assistant Coach had earlier quit his position after two successive loses, citing a difficult working environment.
A source privy to the yesterday’s deliberations intimated to Soka25east.com, that Sony bosses warned of shake up in the technical bench if claims of sabotage and bad run persists in the next three matches.
“They assured Odipo of their support, and that they will give him new members of the technical bench whom he prefers, if the current members refuse to give him full backing.” The source said.
There have been claims of bad blood between assistant Coach Salim Babu and Odipo. A section of senior players have also come under scrutiny over claims of sabotage, as they prefer working with Salim.
During the 1-0 loss to Ushuru over the weekend, a section of fans turned hostile towards Odipo, with chants of Salim to take over the Head Coach position.
