Sony Sugar Football club chairman Paul Orato has resigned after a sterling three years at the helm.Orato resigned last week as the club prepares to recruit for the 2018 season

Speaking to Soka25east.com the Chairman said it was a personal decision and wished the new occupants well saying he did his best at the club

During his reign ,Orato managed to get a silver in the 2016 Top 8 where they lost to Gor Mahia and also finished third in the 2017 Gotv shield

Orato took over from Christopher Odero .

Following his resignation ,the company has for the first time subjected the executive to the polls with elections expected early this month .

The positions of Chairman ,Vice Chairman,Treasurer , secretary and Public relations officer among others will be contested .

The company CEO Benard Otieno dissolved the executive immediately after the chairman’s resignation

Sony Sugar was formed in 1982 but earned promotion to the KPL in 1993 with Gabriel Otiende as the first chairman .They won the 2005/6 KPL season under coach Francis Baraza and play at the Awendo green stadium

Those eyeing the top posts are former chairman Gabriel Otiende who is the company secretary with the nominations forms already being picked at the companies headquarters .
