South Africa U-20 coach Thabo Senong has announced the squad that will square up against Kenya in a friendly game which will take place on Saturday 26 November 2016.
In an interview with the South Africa Football Association portal,Senong has said that he has been forced to change the team around due to the un- availability of some of his regular players.
“It is a good squad that we have selected and we had to look for other players when clubs were unable to release our regular players due to exams as well as the MDC Challenge that is currently underway. We would have loved to have them in camp so our preparations for the Cosafa Cup can be spot on. Some of them will join us immediately after the exams,” said Senong.
“What we have now is a mixture of players from the ABC Motsepe and the SAB Leagues – they don’t have the international experience but this match against Kenya will help them get there.”
“The match will help us in terms of assessing these new players and we were quite impressed with some of them. I am almost certain 70 percent of the players in camp will be part of the COSAFA CUP squad,” added.
South Africa will be using the clash for preparations of the upcoming 2016 COSAFA U-20 Cup which will be held in Rustenburf , North West Provience from 7-16 December.
The Amajita will be playing the final practise match this evening at the Eldorado Stadium before the saturday encounter.
