AFC Leopards speedy winger Paul Were has joined South African top-tier side Amazulu FC on a three year contract.
The development has been confirmed by his agent Basil Manousikis who broke the news after the player impressed away in South Africa where he has attended trials
“He really impressed the Usuthu technical bench and was handed a three-year contract,” Basil revealed,
“He signed the deal on Wednesday and he’s very happy and looking forward to impressing when the league kicks off,” he added.
Were on his part says he’s delighted to have finally joined Amazulu after failing to impress earlier while trying out with Bidvest Wits.
“I’m really happy and hoping to use this as a stepping stone to even greater things in my career. I’ve always believed in myself and can’t wait to play my first game for Amazulu, God is great, that’s all I can say,” he said.
Were was on loan to AFC Leopards from FISA Academy.
