By Bonface Osano,
Mathare United long serving head coach Stanley Okumbi has thrown in the towel, hours after Thika United’s Tim Bryett sent a press release announcing his resignation.
In a brief statement during post match interview after 3-1 loss to Ushuru FC in a Sportpesa Premier League match played on Sunday 16, at Nyayo Stadium, a visible angry Okumbi called it a day at Mathare.
“I have decided to rest from today. Maybe another Coach will be able to handle the situation. Let me take a rest.”
The development was later confirmed by Soka25east.com to be true.
He leaves the “Slum Boys” at position 10 on the log with 29 points.
We wish him well in his future endeavors.
