SPL: Mathare hope to maintain good run

SPL: Mathare hope to maintain good run

By Evans Oduor,

Mathare United will be looking to maintain their winning way’s on
Friday when they face struggling Nairobi City Stars in a Kenya Premier
League (KPL) match slated at Nyayo National Stadium.

The Kawangeare side who lost 2-0 to Sofapaka on Monday have a chance
to correct they mistakes and hope the footballing gods will be on they
side come tomorrow, has they hope to avoid relegation.

City have not looked very useful this second leg ,dispute
having juicy Sh81-million sponsorship from German sports related firm
PM International AG.

Club old boy Jimmy Bageya, who recently returned to Kawangware-based
City Stars could be the key to unlocking the rather shaky Mathere
defence which keep away free scoring Jesse Were, after his
enterprising play against AFC Leopards last two weekend.

Mathare are facing their opponents with high spirit after stunning
Tusker to a shocking 1-0 win last Friday.

They will be looking to register another morale boosting win where
Daniel Mwaura, Eric Johana, Ismail Dunga and Edwin Lavatsa will be the
men to watch upfront.

City Stars sitting in 15th spot with 14 points will need to be at
their best if they are hoping to stay up while Mathere are 9th with 20
point.
