Mathare United 1-3, Nyayo Stadium
A brace from Nelson Marasowe and a goal from Moses Arita was enough to hand Ushuru Fc a 3-1 over host Mathare United to hand them their first maximum points after failing in their last six attempts.
The game started on a high with the visitors making their intentions clear early in the match , as Moses Odhiambo played Naftali in only for the him to waste the chance. The Tax men continued pressing hard Moses Arita then had a shot that deflected off Roy Syamba but Robert Mboya at the Mathare United goal was at hand togather.
Mathare started to gather momentum after the two earlier scares and their to get a corner of their own which the Ushuru defence defended well.
Moses Arita who was a the destroyer in chief to the Mathare United defence the whole match and was to be awarded for his efforts when he was brought down by Robert Mboya in the 18-yard box leaving the referee with no chance but to point to the spot. The penalty kick hit the woodwork after it was tipped by goalkeeper Mboya.
Second half
Okumbi made some changes and brought in Lavatsa in the strikering force in place of Ndonye and the result was soon to beer fruit as Johana lofted the ball to find Lavatsa on the right wing who crossed the ball to Dunga to tap on the opener for the slum boys.
The joy was cut short as Ken Kenyatta side made things even courtesy of Arita, who scored after missing from the spot in the first half
Kenyatta made an immediate substitution of his own, sending in Allan Katerega for the tired Moses Odhiambo. With only minutes on the pitch, the winger was in the thick of thing, looping the ball to Blatty whose cross was met with Arita to restore parity.
Arita was to turn the provider for the second, releasing Marasow after some neat work, who made no mistake to slot past Mboya in the slum boyz goal.
Marasowe completed the job in the added minute with a cool finish after being squared by Paul Otieno to put the game into rest.
The result sees Ushuru ascend to eighth position with 31 points while Mathare United are tenth with 29 points
