In a weekend that claim two coaches and others missing form the touchline Tim Bryett’s lost his job as Thika United coach after his side lost their 7th match in a row while playing host to Bandari United at Thika Stadium on Saturday.

Despite taking the lead halfway into the opening half through Ray Omondi, Bryett’s side failed to hold for to half time, allowing Bandari to score the equalizer in the 36th minute, David King’atua punishing the hosts for poor defending to draw his team level.

A draw would have been a welcome point for Bryett and his side but they allowed their recent mediocrity ruin them again as King’atua sunk home an 87th minute free-kick to give the visitors the win, their first in their last fivematches.

Okumbi resign.

After three-and-a-half years at the helm of Mathare United Stanley Okumbi decided to called it a day as head coach of the Slum Boys.

Two straight defeats, latest a 3-1 loss at the hands of Ushuru which left his now former side 10th on the log, led to Okumbi’s resignation, the boss conceding that after all.

“I’ve decided to take a rest from today,” said Okumbi. “May be another coach will be able to handle the situation but it’s over for me.”

Against the Tax Men, Ismael Dunga put Mathare ahead five minutes into the second half, the lanky forward drilling home a pass from substitute Edwin Lavatsa.

Nelson Marasowe was on hand to score his first and Ushuru’s second in the 72nd minute after he was picked up by Arita. Marasowe hit his brace and Ushuru’s three-point assignment with a stoppage time goal.

Veteran John Baraza struck late to deny relegation threatened
All Stars a deserved victory in a Kenyan Premier League contest played at Nyayo. Nakuru All Stars were headed to cause another upset after quick goals from former Gor Mahia and Tusker midfielder Patrick Oboya (2) and Boniface Akenga put them ahead within the first 20 minutes.

However, Batoto ba Mungu responded with goals from Fuadi Ndayisenga and David Mbakiye to peg back the relegation threatened side before veteran Baraza hit the leveler with a minute to stoppage time

High flying Muhoroni

At the Kisumu Stadium, Muhoroni made it five wins in a row , beating Western Stima 1-0 courtesy of a George Mandela goal 42 minutes into the game. The win lifted Paul Nkata’s side, unbeaten in the second half of the season, to 9th tied on points with 8th placed Mathare United and looking even further up.

In another match, champion elect Gor Mahia edged closer to a third consecutive title in a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Nairobi City Stars at the Nyayo Stadium.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards welcomed coach Zdravko Logarusic to the
touchline with a 2-1 defeat of Ligi Ndogo in the GoTV Shield Cup match.

The absence of Jesse Were from Tusker FC’s frontline was
evident as the Brewers struggled in front of goal in a 1-1 draw
against KCB at Nyayo Stadium.

The Kenyan Premier League topscorer who is in South Africa for move to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) was unavailable in Tusker’s 18-man squad that welcomed KCB who themselves were missing coach Rishadi Shedu from the touchline.

The opening goal came in the 40th minute. Asieche was the creator, the winger-cum-forward feeding Crispinus Onyango who couldn’t miss from close range, and didn’t, slotting the ball home to give his side the lead.

Tusker were behind only for five minutes though as a Kevin Kimani corner, which was headed into the back of the net by Joakins Atudo to make it 1-1 heading into the interval.

Ushuru FC fought from a goal down to beat a sorry Mathare United 3-1 in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Sunday at the Nyayo stadium.

Sugar belt derby

Chemelil Sugar registered a barren draw against SoNy Sugar in a Kenyan Premier derby match played on Sunday 16 August at the Moi International Stadium, Kisumu.


In a match the either team could find the net,and few chance coming by with the closest coming In the 71st minute as Karani remained with keeper inside the box but shot outside for what could have been a direct goal. Three minutes later, Murage screamer got silenced by Allan Owiny before SoNy Sugar came back in the game.
