The Labour Day treat commenced on Saturday 30 with a 6-goal thriller between Kayole Youth and Kiambiu Youth and climaxed on Sunday 1 with a top of the table fixture between Jericho All Stars and Kayole Asubuhi at Camp Toyoyo.
Kayole Youth 4-2 Kiambiu Youth
MYSA HQ was the venue of an enthralling face off between relegation candidate Kayole Youth and mid table team Kiambiu Youth; like a wounded lion, Kayole produced an A game to sink their fellow East Conference member and enhance survival chances.
Kayole will need two more points to crawl out of the danger zone with all factors remaining static.
Karani Oliver set the stage for Kiambiu’s massacre with an early goal in the 9th minute before making it 2-0 with a brace in the 16th minute. Guchu Kennedy tripled Kiambiu’s troubles six minutes to the half hour mark, a scoreline which stayed into the breather.
Tired of being ran over like a train,Kiambiu returned from the locker room with a reply which came in the 51st minute through Lawrence Musili, but Kayole were not going to take their feet off the peddle just yet.
Peter Otiri completed the drubbing with seven minutes to regulation time with the fourth and final for Kayole who registered their third win of the season in 14 outings. Kiambiu remains seventh on the table standings with 19 points from the same number of matches.
Jericho All Stars 1-1 Kayole Asubuhi
Jericho and Kayole Asubuhi threw away a chance to move clear at the top of the log when they shared the spoils at Camp Toyoyo on Labour Day.
A win for either side would have seen the gab at the top widen by three points, and a break into the 30 points bracket. The two are tied at position one with 29 points a piece, with Jericho enjoying a massive goal difference of 12 compared to Asubuhi’s 8.
The visitors went ahead in the 14th minute through Asuman Paul’s well crafted goal, which only lasted for four minutes before the home side restored order.
Eddie Kurui who has enjoyed a superb form thus far scored the equalizer, his seventh goal in the campaign to tie the match 1-1 by half time. The second stanza was a tale of missed chances as the winner proved elusive for either side.
Shauri Moyo Blue Stars 2-1 Ajax FC
Shauri brushed a side Ajax 2-1 to prolong their fine run in the league which has seen them accumulate eight wins and three losses to this end.
The East Conference side are two points shy off the leading pack, at third on the table standings with 27 points.
They rallied from Julius Wanjala’s goal for Ajax in the added minutes of the first half to win the tie 2-1 by the blow of the final whistle at Camp Toyoyo.
David Bosire made it 1-1 in the 69th minute after a sustained pressure, before grabbing a last gasp brace to take all the three points and spark wild celebrations from the home fans and the technical bench.
Ajax are 8th on the log with 17 points with a game at hand.
Shamako Babes 1-1 Metro Sports
Metro continued to slow down in the title race when they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by bottom placed Shamako Babes at Kabete ACK.
Even though they have played a game less, Metro finds themselves a distant fourth in the table standings, three points a drift of the leading group.
Surprisingly it was Shamako that scored first through George Njoroge in the 14th minute before Bonface Oluoch saved the day with the leveler in the 28th minute. The tie produced no further goals with Shamako happy to pick at least a point from Metro.
Kawangware United 2-0 Baba Dogo

Thairu’s goal came in the 25th minute with Daniel Muturi making it 2-0 in the 52nd minute. Kawangware seals the top ten with 16 points, while Baba are 14th with 14 points.
Kabete United 1-2 Diguna
Diguna pipped host Kabete United 2-1 at Kabete ACK to climb to sixth on the log with 23 points from 13 matches. The West Conference outfit could climb to fourth if they win their game at hand.
Daniel Kinuthia scored all the two goals for Diguna in the 41st and 79th minutes respectively, with Regan Ochieng netting the consolation in the 85th minute. Kabete drops to 9th with 17 points after 14 matches.
