A match between Kawangware United and title contenders Jericho All Stars at Kawangware GP on Saturday was called off in the 79th minute due to heavy rains that persisted, rendering the conditions unplayable. At the time of the call off, the Makadara side was leading the home side by Victor Walerah’s 74th minute goal.
Fellow contenders Kayole Asubuhi took the advantage to move two points clear at the top with 32 points after a 4-1 drubbing of Baba Dogo United at Camp Toyoyo.
A brace from Tobias Taabu in the 6th and 54th minutes and more goals from Joel Mwanzia in the 40th minute and John Kamau 72’ completed the rout to hand Koyole all the three points and improve their goal difference to 11, the second best in the log after Jericho’s 12. Baba’s consolation came deep into the match through Fredrick Wanjohi’s 93rd strike – they drop to 14th on the table standings from 12th with 14 points.
Shamako Babes 1-4 Shauri Moyo Blue Stars
Kabete ACK Grounds produced the second 5-goal thriller of the day when the whipping boys of the league Shamako came down hard against Shauri Moyo.
Shauri’s title charge remains on course as they climb to second on the log with thirty points, two less than leaders Kayole Asubuhi.
Shamako seemed to have hit a beehive with a missile when Samwel Mburu put them ahead in the 8th minute – what followed was a ruthless stinging by the East Conference big wig which started with Malik Rahim’s equalizer in the 11th minute. Collins Mugua then made it 2-1 for the visitors in the 39th minute with a cool finish before Bosire David put matters beyond the strugglers with the third goal five minutes to stoppage.
Idris Gerald had the last say, scoring the fourth goal and the final for Shauri for a 4-1 full time obliteration.
The West Conference minnows retains the bottom position with five points from 15 fixtures – they have only won once while losing 14 times.
Melta Kabiria 2-0 Kabete United
In an early kick off at Kawangware GB before the rains, Melta Kabiria grabbed back to back wins with a well deserved 2-0 over visitors Kabete United.
Kabete’s downward spiral persists as they once more failed to win in two attempts – they drop to tenth on the table with 17 points, while Melta moves three steps to eighth with 18 points.
Francis Wambura’s goals in the 15th and 23rd minutes were all that Melta needed to slay Kabete and compound their woes.
Kayole Youth 3-1 Kiamaiko City
Youth’s rebirth continued with a 3-1 thrashing of Kiamaiko City at MYSA HQ. The drubbing commenced with Kenneth Ingairu’s fine finish in the 24th minute with Oliver Karani adding the second just before the interval for a 2-0 heathy break.
After the breather Wambaki Moses hit the final nail with the third in the 67th minute; Kiamako hit back with a consolation in the 78th minute through Erick Omondi, but it was too late in the day.
