Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League Week 12 Preview – The battle at the top intensifies

The biggest grassroot football league,Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League continues over the weekend with 8 matches on the cards across Nairobi and it’s environs, so get ready to #WakilishaMtaaYako

On Saturday 16, two matches involving leaders Metro Sports and second placed Jericho All Stars will be the main focus points of the week 12 matches as their outcomes could have far reaching effects on the table standings.

Jericho who are a point behind Metro will travel to Huruma Grounds to face Kiamaiko City with a chance to move to top with 27 points begging. They are expected to receive minimal resistance from a Kiamaiko side which has been on a free fall and are currently 13th having won just three matches in 11 fixtures.

The match is promising nothing but football heaven as the two teams are among the top scorers in the league.

Metro will be facing an uphill task against 6th placed Diguna FC at Baba Dogo Grounds knowing very well that any slip ups could see them move down the pecking order. An eighth win of the season will see the East Conference heavyweights hit 28 points mark and possibly extend the lead at the top to four points.

Diguna on the other hand will be chasing the sixth win which could propel them up to 4th with 20 points.

On “Super Sunday” 17, three enticing ties will be staged at City Stadium, as the battle between the East and West Conference intensifies.

Makongeni’s MASA will take on Kayole Youth in the first explosive encounter of the day. Youth have a mathematical chance of ascending to the top of the log if they win by a big margin while the top two sides fail to get maximum points in their matches.

Kiambiu Youth will then take to the stage to entertain their home fans when they clash with Baba Dogo. Shauri Moyo Blue Stars will square it out with Melta Kabiria for the final showdown of the weekend.
