Gor Mahia of Kenya beat Tanzania’s Simba SC 2-0 to defend their SportPesa Super Cup title at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium on Sunday.

K’Ogalo as the Kenyan greats are known, sealed the win with goals from Rwandan duo of Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge in each half the game.

The win earned the coach Dylan Kerr’s side a lifetime opportunity to play Premier League side Everton in a friendly and Goodison Park, UK.

They also walked home $30,000 richer.

Ugandan-born Rwandan danger-man Meddie light up the fully parked stadium with an early 6th minute opener – turning inside the box to fire home Tuyisenge’s cross past Simba keeper Aishi Manula.

The hosts took the slim 1-0 lead into the breather.

In the second half Gor, who were overall the better side, continue pressing for more goals and in the 55th minute Tuyisenge doubled the lead with a clinical finish connecting home Humphrey Mieno’s right cross.

Simba who missed some of their forwards like John Bocco and Emmanuel Okwi in the tournament struggled in front of goal and barely troubled Gor’s keeper Shaban Odhoji.

Gor will get another chance to play Everton whom they lost 2-1 to in the initial encounter last year in Tanzania.
