Ethiopian Premier League week 20 was a see saw affair that saw with mixed results as the fight for the title went a notch higher .
League leaders St.George failed in their quest to go past third place Ethiopia Nigd Bank when the two sides shared the spoils in an exciting match played on Sunday.St.George however remained at the summit of the league with 39 points from 20 games one more point ahead of Sidama Bunna.
Dedebit were the biggest beneficiaries crushing Ethiopia Bunna 3-0 in a one sided match that catapulted them to the sixth place on the log.Sidama Bunna who have been at the top for the better part of the season suffered a humiliating 3-1 loss at the hands of Adama Kenema as they needed the win to topple St.George but that was not the case as they stumbled to remain second on the log with 38 points.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank have trail at third in the log table with 33 points after 2o matches with the top scorer in the league Phillip Dauzi notching his 14th goal when they played St.George on Sunday.
Hawassa Kenema pulled a suprise win moving out of the relegation zone after a deserved 2-1 win over Mekelakeya in an entertaining match played on Sunday.Kenema are now 12th on the log with 20 points but will have to work hard to avoid the drop with Mugher Ceminto who suffered another 1-0 loss at the hands of Arbamich Kenema to remained rooted at second from bottom at 13th with 19 points.
Dashen Bira managed a motivating 2-1 win over Electric who have been blowing hot and cold as bottom of the table side Woldia suprised everyone with a 1-0 over Wolaita Dicha to push them to 12 points but still deep in the relegation zone of the Ethiopian premier League.
