State pays attention to Women’s football in Egypt

The Egyptian Football Association has assured stakeholders that Women Football in Egypt is a great priority.

Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the state pays great attention to women’s football at the present time.

The Executive Director of the Football Association said, during his speech at the “Best” awards ceremony in the Women’s Football League for the past 2019/2020 football season, that there is great interest from all concerned authorities in the country for the advancement of women’s football.

He added that the committee in charge of managing the Egyptian Football Association is working hard to push women’s football to the imam, and this is evident in the great effort made by Dr. Sahar Abdel Haq, a member of the committee in charge of managing the federation, and the supervisor of women’s football.

Walid Al-Attar pointed out that football is not just limited to men, as everyone can play football, calling on parents to encourage their girl children to play the beautiful game.

The Egyptian Football Association held the awards ceremony for the best in the women’s football league for the past season 2019/2020, in the presence and supervision of Dr. Sahar Abdel-Haq, a member of the committee in charge of managing the federation, and the supervisor of women’s football. Al-Ittihad technician, Abdul Latif Imam, head of the Women’s Football Development Committee, and a number of icons of the women’s football game .

The league championship shield was awarded to Wadi Degla, the league champion, second-placed Kafr Saad team and the third-ranked  Al-Tayyar team were honored , and the Maadi and Yacht Club’s Fair Play Cup and the Sports Spirit Cup were awarded to the Aviation Club, and the five rising Premier League clubs were also honored for the 2020 season / 2021, which is the Berjaya youth center in Minya, the Haram club, the Citadel youth center, the Aga youth center, and the Delphi club. The Football Association has also financially supported the five clubs in preparation for the next season .  

Sahar Abdel-Haq honored the captain of Wajih Ahmed and Dr. Azab Hajjaj, who are responsible for the referees committee, and the prize for the best player for Angie Attia and Mahira Ali, the prize for the best goalkeeper for Farah Samir, the prize for the best young player for Nada Khaled and the award for the top scorer of the league for Nadine Ghazi  .
