Sudan and Ethiopia’s top tier side, Hawassa faced off in Addis Ababa this afternoon, as a preparation match for the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of the Nations in Zambia.

Despite playing exciting football, Sudan were not proficient in attacking–this seem to be their Achilles heel.

Ivorian center back Mohammed Sylla scored in both nets, for and against his side. Misganaw WoldeYohannis struck the second and the winner, 2-1 for Hawassa.

Sylla was making a debut for Hawassa and it took him 12 minutes to score a good header but a minute later scored an own goal.

At 2017 U-20 AFCON, Sudan were drawn in Group B, alongside South Africa, Senegal and Cameroon.
