Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh will officially play all their home games in the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League in Al Ahly’s stadium.
Al-Merrikh were handed a very tough group in the Champions League along with Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly and arch rivals Al-Hilal.
They are yet to play their opening game, which was set to take place last weekend against Al Ahly, as the Red Devils were in Abu Dhabi competing in the Club World Cup.
Their next game will be against Sundowns and was set to take place at home but due to them violating CAF’s standards they had to look for another home ground.
As a result, the club approached Al Ahly to see if they could play the games in the Al-Salam WE Stadium in Cairo and the club approved their request in an official statement.
