After failing to send off Uganda defender Nicholas Wadada in Friday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier, Sudanese referee El Fadil Mohammed will come under scrutiny from FIFA.
The match official twice booked Ugandan right-back Wadada in the Group E game against Ghana, but failed to send the player off.
The Cranes were able to hold out for a goalless draw in the Group E match.
The referee will submit his report to FIFA on Monday and will surely be asked to explain why he failed to show a red card to Wadada, who was cautioned in each half.
It was a key moment in the game, with Uganda quickly substituting the player soon after he received his second yellow to ensure they finished the match with a full compliment of men.
Ghana were unable to break down the visitors at the Tamale Stadium and were forced to settle for a draw.
