By Asha Belay,
Ethiopia’s talented left back Abebaw Butako has not had an easy time in Sudan since being signed by Al Hilal joining them from Ethiopian giants St.George.
Grapevine has been rife from reliable sources in Sudan that Al Hilal will let go of Abebaw Butako and Mali’s Souleymane Konate after failing to impress in Sudan.
The source who sort anonymity told soka25east.com “Abebaw is a great talent but the technical bench at Al Hilal feel he has not lived up to expectations and failed to impress despite being provided with all he needed as a player.Al Hilal have great plans but they also expect to get value for the money they pay”the source said.
Abebaw Butako has been a key member of the Ethiopia Walia Ibex team and one of the best natural left backs from Ethiopia.
Sudan has been a tough hunting ground for Ethiopian players and just recently Shemeles Bekele also left Al Mereikh in a huff but later shined in Egypt where he moved to later after his contract was terminated.
Efforts to reach the soft spoken Abebaw Butako were fruitless as his phone went unanswered.
