Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM recorded big wins in the DStv Premiership matches which took place on Tuesday night.
Sundowns opened a three-point lead at the top of the league standings after thumping a hapless Maritzburg United side 5-0 in Pietermaritzburg.
Man of the Match Thapelo Morena, Cassius Mailula (brace) and Haashim Domingo (brace) all scored for the reigning South African champions at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
While Royal AM snapped their three-match winless run in the league when they defeated Lamontville Golden Arrows 3-1 at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
Goals from Lesvin Stoffels, Ruzaigh Gamildien and Motebang Sera earned Royal the win, while Sboniso Cele scored what proved to be Arrows’ consolation goal.
Lastly, Cape Town City snapped their five-match winless run across all competitions when they secured a 2-1 win over Chippa United.
Ronaldo Maarman handed Chippa the lead, but two goals from Khanyisa Mayo and Thamsanqa Mkhize earned City a win at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
