Randy Jordan Waldrum is the new head coach of the Nigeria Women’s senior football team dubbed the Super Falcons, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced on Monday.
Waldrum, a former player has vast experience in the game. He has largely built his portfolio working in the United States with universities as well as the U23 national set up.
Between 2014 & 2016, he was the head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago senior women’s team. At the same time, he was attached to national Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Houston Dash.
In 2017, the American turned down the job in favour of a similar role at the University of Pittsburgh.
Waldrum is the second foreign coach at the helm of the Super Falcons. He replaces Swedish coach Thomas Dennerby who left the position in October 2019. This after he led Nigeria to the round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
