Tanzania’s “Taifa Stars” are in Kartepe – Kocael Turkey for a one week intensive training as they get in shape for a tough AFCON-2017 qualifier match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria next month.
The Stars’ contingent which consists of 21 players and seven technical bench members lead by head of delegation Ahmed Mgoyi from Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), will be staying at Green Park Hotel Kartepe.
Head Coach Charles Benjamin Mkwasa was impressed with the conditions at the camp and he believes his charges will prepare well for the Nigeria match. He is calling on fans to rally behind the team ahead of the acid test against the Eagles on Saturday,September 5.
The team will be training twice a day. They will play two build up matches before the one week camp concludes.
Tanzania lost their opening match of the qualifiers 3-0 away to Egypt in June, and they will be hoping to steady their ship with a positive result against Nigeria.
