Tanzania-Giants record second successive victories as Majimaji shocks Kagera Sugar

Giants Yanga, Simba, Azam together with Mtibwa Sugar and Mbeya City all recorded victories in round two of the Vodacom Premier league matches that were played in different venues across Tanzania.

Yanga  3-0  Tanzania Prisons

The National stadium in Dar es Salaam was a battle of fireworks as defending champions Young Africans demolished visiting Mbeya based Tanzania Prisons 3-0.

Mbuyu Twite scored the first goal before Burundian Amisi Tambwe added the second.Zimbabwean Donald Ngoma converted from the spot to complete the rout in a match that Prisons coach blamed goalkeeper Mohammed Yusuf for the loss terming his performance as lazy.

 

Stand United 0-2 Azam

At the Kambarage Stadium in Shinyanga,hosts Stand United recorded their second straight loss going down 0-2 to Cecafa giants Azam.

Stand who over the weekend lost 0-1 to Mtibwa Sugar at the same ground trailed the ice cream makers by an Allan Wanga strike in the 56th minute before Tanzanian international Frank Domayo inflicted more pain to the Shinyanga boys with the second.Stand are winless while Azam join Simba,Mtibwa,Yanga and Majimaji at the top.

 

Mgambo JKT 0-2 Simba

A revenge match it was considering Simba lost by a similar margin to the soldiers last season at the same stadium.

The Msimbazi boys registered their second successive victory in the Province after earlier beating  African Sports.

Zimbabwean import Justice Majabvi and Ugandan Hamiss Kiiza ‘Diego’ were on target for the men in red.

 

MajiMaji 1-0 Kagera Sugar

At the Majimaji stadium in Songea,newcomers Majimaji laboured to register their second successive victory beat Kagera Sugar 1-0.The all important goal was scored by Stamilii Mbonde .MajiMaji who beat JKT Ruvu by a similar scoreline were wary of Kagera’s threat considering that Kagera shocked Mbeya City away.

Mbonde did not disappoint after finishing off a Peter Mapunda fine pass in the 82nd minute of the match.

 

Ndanda FC 1-0 Coastal Union.

Atupele Green’s 71st minute goal is all that Ndanda FC needed as they ensured Tanga based Coastal Union returned back home empty handed with a 1-0 victory at their Nangwabda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara.

Toto Africans 1-2 Mtibwa Sugar

At the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza,Hosts Toto African who began their league debut with a 1-0 win over Mwadui were shocked at their backyard with a 1-2 loss at the hands of Morogoro based Mtibwa Sugar.The visitors took an early lead in the 21st minute courtesy of Shiza Kichuya before Vincent Barnabas doubled the lead in the 30th minute for a Halftime time lead.Toto however rallied and pulled one back through Miraj Athumani.

 

Mbeya City 3-0 JKT Ruvu

Mbeya City recovered from their shock loss at the hands of Kagera Sugar by demolishing JKT Ruvu 3-0 at the packed Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya City.

Joseph Mahundi opened the scores in the 23rd minute for a half time lead.On resumption Themi Felix added the second in the 56th minute before David Kabole finished off in the 69th minute for a 3-0 victory.

Mwadui FC 2-0 African Sports.

This was another battle for newcomers with the hosts who earlier lost to another newcomer Toto African registering their first win over winless  Tanga based African Sports.

Mwadui scored their goals through Paul Nonga and Rashid ‘Kun Aguero’ Mandawa at the Mwadui Complex in Shinyanga.
