Yanga 4-1 Toto Africans
League leaders and defending champions Yanga made a meal of Mwanza based Toto Africans by humiliating them 4-1 in a match played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The boys from the lakeside City may blame it to fatigue having travelled for over 1738 kilometres by road and having played over the weekend.They played to a goalless draw with Ndanda in Mtwara which is 1179 kilometres from Mwanza and later travelled 559 kilometres to Dar es Salaam.
In the match Juma Abdul drew first blood in the 11th minute for the host before Donald Ngoma’s penalty was well handled by Musa Mohamed in Africans goal
With a narrow HT lead,the second half prooved a goal scoring galore for the defending champions but it was Toto Africans Miraj Athumani who silenced the home crowd in the 57th minute with a goal just five minutes after Simon Msuva had extended the lead.
Msuva had replaced injured Juma Abdul.
Yanga brought in Audrey Coutinho and Nadir Haroub for Geoffrey Mwashiuya and Kelvin Yondani respectively.
Amissi Tambwe added the third in the 84th minute before Msuva made it out of reach for Toto scoring a fourth in the 90th minute for a 4-1 scoreline.
In another match played on wednesday 21st,Mbeya based Tanzania Prisons shocked visiting Dar es Salaam giants Simba SC 1-0 at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya City.
Coastal Union registered their first victory beating Kagera Sugar by a similar margin at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.
The biggest win was however witnessed in Shinyanga’s Kambarage Stadium where Elias Maguri scored a brace helping Stand United crush Majimaji 3-0,Stand had just beaten Tanzania Prisons by a similar margin.
On Thursday 22nd today,money bags Azam FC joined Yanga at the top after a hard fought 1-0 Victory over Ndanda FC with Shomari Kapombe netting the decisive goal at the Nangwanda Sijaona stadium in Mtwara.
At the Mwadui Sports complex,another money bag Mwadui FC beat Mgambo JKT 3-1 with a brace from J.Tegete while Malika Ndeuli added the third in the 80th minute
At the Karume Stadium in Dar JKT Ruvu held Morogoro giants Mtibwa Sugar to a goalless draw while at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya,troubled Mbeya City registered their second win beating African Sports 1-0,Mlawa scored the all important goal in the 12th minute
