Vodacom Premier League new entrance Toto Africa from Mwanza have said they will spend close to $300,000 for the 2015/16 season as they return to the top tier.
This was revealed by Club Vice Chairman Ahmed Waziri Gao who said they unanimously agreed and all the delegates endorsed the amount in a meeting held in Mwanza.He said the finance Committee had put that in consideration and it was the delegates who were set to approve it’s a fete that was all accepted by the delegates.
“Because of the stiff competition in the top tier, we had to plan for a bigger budget and I thank the members for endorsing it en masse” Waziri was quoted saying.
The money will be used for the day to day running of the club plus the U18 team. About $1800 will be used for signing of players while $81200 will be used to cater for the players and technical bench salaries. The travelling and Accommodation allowances will cost $23600 while the lion’s share of approximately $97000 will cater for the team’s residential training and preparations for league matches. Treatment will take $1200 while Administration and logistics including the U18 team will cost them $85300.
Toto Africa are among the 4 teams that qualified for the top tier after TFF made changes by increasing the total number of clubs participating in the top tier to 16 up from 14.The other teams that joined the top tier are Mwadui FC of Shinyanga,Maji Maji of Songea and Tanga based African Sports
Toto Africa plays its home matches at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in the City of Mwanza but are now training in the Marsh Athletics Academy at Mirongo Grounds and are in the tutelage of head coach John Tegete.
