Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) on Thursday 8, put ink to paper on a three year television broadcast sponsorship deal with Shahara Media.
The contract worth USD 207,405 will see Star TV air live First Division League (FDL) matches.
Speaking during the signing ceremony TFF supremo Jamal Malinzi thanked the media group for investing in football in the country and urged the FDL clubs to make good use of the sponsorship money to propel them to success as the league will contribute three teams to the top league by end of the season.
Jamal also appealed to management of different stadiums used for league matches to keep them in good condition, to allow for more eye catching live broadcast of matches and to improve standards of play.
Star TV becomes the second broadcast sponsor of the league after the main sponsor Star Times came on board earlier by injected USD 622,215.
Sahara Media vice chairman Samwel Nyala, thanks TFF for giving them the opportunity to partner saying they will add a dedicated channel called Star Sports Plus specifically for the league.
