Lubumbashi based Congo DR Club TP Mazembe together with South African PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns have been invited to take part in a tournament set for Tanzania’s commercial capital Dar es Salaam.
The tournament will be part of a send-off celebration for outgoing Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete who’s two 5 year term ends in October 2015.
Accompanying the clubs will be their respective presidents and owners in Moise Katumbi for TP Mazembe and Patrice Motsepe for Mamelodi Sudowns.
The two clubs will meet another two Tanzanian Vodacom League Clubs to make it a total of four teams. Azam, Simba and Yanga have all been earmarked but the first two to confirm participation will feature.
Kikwete has been into football in his 10 year reign and is believed to be a supporter of Jangwani based Yanga.
