The Vodacom Premier league Saturday results saw Mtibwa Sugar tie on points with Young Africans after they registered victories in their round four matches.
The biggest news in town is the derby win by Jangwani side Yanga who crushed rivals Simba in a pulsating match played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.Burundian Amiss Tambwe and Maalim Busungu scored each to give the men in yellow the bragging rights.
Elswhere in Morogoro,Mtibwa Sugar continued with their fine run in the league with a 1-0 victory over Songea based side Majimaji FC.
At the Sokoine Memorial Stadium in Mbeya,hosts Tanzania Prisons beat Mgambo JKT by a similar margin as Stand United shocked winless JKT Ruvu with a solitary goal away.
Mwadui FC forced hosts Coastal Union to goalless draw at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga while the match between Kagera Sugar against neighbours Toto Africans was locked at 0-0 at the Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba.
Tomorrow Azam FC will seek to join rivals Yanga together with Mtibwa at the summit when they engage Mbeya City whose close to 1000 travelling fans endured a 681 kilometre journey to the capital Dar es Salaam.The match will be played at the Chamazi Sports Complex.
The other match will see African Sports host Ndanda FC from Mtwara at the Mkwakwani Stadium.
