Tanzania beat DR Congo 2-0, Malawi held Uganda to a barren draw, while Kenya went down 3-1 to Central African Republic in international friendlies played Tuesday.

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars atoned for last week’s 4-1 away loss to Algeria with a well worked 2-0 victory against visiting DR Congo at the National Stadium, Dar Es Salaam.

KRC Genk’s striker Mbwana Samatta gave the hosts the lead in the 74th minute before Shiza Kichuya doubled the lead with three minutes left on the clock.

Uganda, who beat Sao Tome and Principe 3-1 at Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole, Kampala on Sunday were held to barren stalemate by Malawi at the same venue.

Kenya received a 3-1 beating from Central African Republic in the second warm-up in Marrakech, Morocco.

Kenya rallied to hold Comoros 2-2 in their first friendly of the current international break on Sunday.

CAR, who settled to a barren draw against The Gambia over the weekend, went ahead in the 15th minute through Foxi Kethevoman’s volley.

But Girona’s Michael Olunga set up Johanna Eric for the leveler just two minutes later for a 1-1 half time score.

Dagoulou’s 64th minute’s easy header restored CAR’s lead before Hilaire Momi stretched it further from the spot after Zesco defender David Owino committed a foul in the box.

Olunga reduced the deficit for the Harambee Stars with a lovely strike with two minutes to go, but the coach Stanley Okumbi’s side could not get an equalizer.

Stars finished the game a man less after Spain-bases Ismael Gonzalez was sent off.
