Dar es Salaam heavy weights Young Africans,Simba and Azam are all tied at the top of the Vodacom Premier league after recording victories in their respective matches over the weekend.
Only Morogoro based Mtibwa Sugar joins the Dar teams at the top with three wins out of three.
Yanga are ahead on goal difference followed closely by Samba then Azam.Simba displaced Azam to second place after a comprehensive 3-1 win over Kagera Sugar .
Azam struggled away at the Mwadui Sports Complex and had to thank John Bochco for the vital win.

Stand United 2-0 African Sports
Stand United registered their first win in the league after demolishing winless African Sports by an Elias Maguri brace in a match played at the Kambarage Stadium in Shinyanga.
The win sends Stand to the 11th position with three points.
Mgambo. JKT 1-0 Majimaji
Majimaji football club’s fine run came to an abrupt end at the Mkwakwani Stadium when they lost 1-0 to Mgambo JKT with a Felly. Maganga goal.
This was Mgambo’s first win while Majimaji had collected six points in their first two matches.Majimaji are now at the 5th position while Mgambo are 8th on the log.
Tanzania Prisons 1-0 Mbeya City
The Mbeya City derby ended in favour of the correction men at the packed Sokoine. Memorial Stadium in the Southern City.Jumanne Elfadhil scored the lone goal for Prison’s first win of the season.Mbeya City remains with 3 points and at position 9.
Yanga 4-1 JKT Ruvu.
The biggest scoreline over the weekend where Burundian Amis Tambwe scored a brace with Zimbabwean duo of Donald Ngoma and Thabani Kamusolo adding the other two in a mouth watering clash at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.Ruvu’s consolation was scored by George Minja.
Ruvu and African Sports remain winless and are both rooted at the bottom with no point.
Sunday
Mwadui 0-1 Azam.
Mwadui Sports complex was the venue of football fireworks as Azam’s prowess came to a real test with an unlikely opposition from promoted Mwadui.
Azam scored their lone goal through John Bocho. Before Aggrey Morris received his matching orders.Mwadui could have levelled matters but Rashid Mandawa failed to connect from the spot.
Azam who beat Prisons 2-1 and Stand United 2-0 in Chamazi and Shinyanga respectively now are third with 9 points same as Samba ,Yanga and Mtibwa.
Mtibwa Sugar 2-1 Ndanda FC.
The only team from outside Dar es Salaam with three wins out of three.Mtibwa were victorious at their Manugu,Turiani home in Morogoro with a 2-1 win over visiting Ndanda FC from Mtwara.
SALUM mbande and Said Bahanuzi were on target for Mtibwa while Ndanda’s consolation was scored by Kiggi Makassya.Ndanda are are still sixth despite the loss while Mtibwa are joint top.
Coastal Union 0-0 Toto Africans
Tanga based Coastal Union registered their first league point when they held visiting Mwanza based Toto Africans to a goalies draw at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.The draw means Coastal Union move two steps upwards leapfrogging African Sports and JKT Ruvu to the 14th slot.Toto Africans are seventh on the log with 4 points.
Simba 3-1 Kagera Sugar
At the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam,’Wekundu wa Msimbazi’ as they are well known brushed aside visiting Kagera Sugar 3-1 with man of the match Hamiis ‘Diego’ Kiiza scoring the first hat trick .Kiiza scored his first and second in the 31st and 46th minutes respectively to help Simba go 2-0 up before Mubarak Yusuf reduced the defeciet only for Kiiza to complete his hat trick for a 3-1 scoreline.He now has four goals.
Elsewhere,Yanga FC have shifted their camp to the Tanzania island of Pemba where they are preparing for the big derby match against fierce rivals Samba.
