Timu ya taifa ya Tanzania imepata ushindi wa mabao 2 kwa 0 dhidi ya Malawi katika mchuano wa mzunguko wa kwanza kutafuta nafasi ya kusonga mbele kuwania tiketi ya kombe la dunia mwaka 2018 nchini Urusi.
Mchuano huo ulichezwa Jumatano jioni katika uwanja wa taifa jijini Dar es salaam na mabao ya Stars yalitiwa wavuni na washambuliaji wa klabu ya TP Mazembe nchini DRC Mbwana Samatta katika dakika 18 kipindi cha kwanza na Thomas Ulimwengu dakika 23.
Ni ushindi muhimu kwa kocha Boniface Charles Mkwasa ambaye jana alitia saini mkataba wa kudumu kuifunza Taifa Stars hadi mapema mwaka 2017.
Mchuano wa marudiano ni juma lijalo na Taifa Stars inahitaji sare tu ili kusonga mbele katika hatua ya pili.
Nayo timu ya taifa ya soka ya Burundi Intamba Murugamba, imekuwa ikichuana na Ushelisheli na kupata ushindi wa bao 1 kwa 0 ugenini bao lilifungwa dakika ya 15 ya mchuano huo.
Comoros na Lesotho wametoka sare ya kutofungana.
Mchuano kati ya Sudan Kusini na Mauritania ulisimamishwa dakika 10 kipindi cha kwanza kutokana na mvua kubwa na hadi wakati huo bao lilikuwa 1 kwa 1.
Hadi tukienda hewani Harambee Stars ya Kenya ilikuwa inaongoza kwa mabao 2 kwa 0 ugenini dhidi ya Mauritius.
