Tanzania’s Taifa coach Mart Nooij has dropped skipper Nadir Haroub together with Aishi Manuala,Hassan Isihaka,Haroun Chanongo and Kelvin Friday from the 20 man squad he named for the Cosafa cup in South Africa.
Nadir Haroub also known as Cannavaro was the surprise exclusion as the coach gave declared the player unfit as the main reason for excluding him from the team that travels to South Africa on Wednesday.
Mart Nooij’s charges are expected to fly out this evening to Rustenburg, South Africa, where the COSAFA championship will take place from May 17 to 31.
The dropped quintet were diagnosed with injuries that ruled them out of the impending COSAFA Cup after being examined by doctors on Monday, when the players reported at their camp.Two more players are expected to be dropped from the squad that will travel to South Africa as the number of players who were summoned in the camp is 28.
Taifa Stars will be in Group B where they will play their first match on Monday against Swaziland then two days later they will face off with Madagascar then end their preliminary games with a game against Lesotho on May 22 .

Goalkeepers: Deogratius Munishi (Yanga) and Mwadini Ali (Azam).
Defenders: Shomari Kapombe, Aggrey Morris, Erasto Nyoni (Azam), Oscar Joshua, Kelvin Yondani (Yanga), Abdi Banda (Simba), Salim Mbonde (Mtibwa Sugar) and Haji Mwinyi (KMKM).
Midfielders: Salum Abubakar, Frank Domayo (Azam), Said Juma, Salum Telela, Hassan Dilunga (Yanga), Said Ndemla (Simba) and Mwinyi Kazimoto (Al Markhira).
Strikers: Ibrahim Ajib (Simba), Mrisho Ngassa, Simon Msuva (Yanga), John Bocco (Azam) and Juma Luizio (Zesco United).
