Tunisian Businessman and Football Administrator Tarek Bouchamaoui has announced his intention for vying for the CAF Presidency.
Bouchamaoui is a member of the FIFA Council and a member of the executive committee of CAF and was head of CAF’s referee committee.
He presented the Tunisian Football Federation with a request for support for his candidacy for the presidency of CAF.
“I have the honor to confirm my decision to run for the presidency of the African Football Confederation and to request your support and support for my candidacy in order to guarantee it every chance of success”, Bouchamaoui wrote, in a letter to the FTF.
“I consider that this electoral deadline constitutes an opportunity for Tunisia to chair this great institution and that our usual close collaboration will allow us to continue to defend the interests of national and regional football in an increasingly complex environment on the international scene” , added the member of the FIFA council and the executive board of the African Football Confederation.
Bouchamaoui is challenging Ahmad Ahmad for the CAF Presidency at CAF’s elective extraordinary general assembly which will be held on March 12, 2021 in Morocco. The submission of applications will close on November 12th.
