Young Africans may find themselves in the industrial court after beer company TBL threatened to take action following breach of contract
Yanga began using jersies branded Quality Group limited, a company that signed a sponsorship deal with them, ultimately dropping TBL’s branded jersies.
Yanga first used the branded tops with Quality Group limited, owned by their chairman Yusuf Manji as the shirt sponsors.
Speaking separately, Yanga chairman Yusuf Manji said the five year contract they signed with TBL was fishy wasn’t beneficial. He said it was signed when he was not the chair yet. “The deal that TBL signed was not as per the constitution .
Yanga recently signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Quality Group Ltd and has since repainted their bus removing the Kilimanjaro logo and replacing it with QGL .The bus is of Yutong model .
TBL says it’s shocking that they removed the TBL logo on the front of the jerseys yet there is still a binding contract. TBL further states that despite the jangwani based side having not terminated their contract with them, they went ahead to engage with the company owned by Manji.
The five year deal TBL signed with Yanga ends in July 31st.
Yanga’s secretary General Clement Sanga said their contract with the beer manufacturing company is over and there was no need to advertise them
