Burkina Faso’s ten-man Salitas were able to claim a point in their CAF Confederation Cup, Group B match at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri on Sunday after playing to a 0-0 scoreline against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.
The match itself on Sunday was one dominated by Sfaxien, but for all their pressure they could not find the back of the net.
In fact, the home side had 70 percent of the possession throughout the night and whopping 20 shots on goal (of which only seven were on target).
To say Sfaxien were poor in the final third and in front of goal would be an understatement.
Salitas looked completely out-matched on the night but they defended stoutly, especially when they were reduced to ten men in the 73rd minute following a second yellow card for Demankel Elisee.
Still, despite only picking up a point the Tunisian side are unbeaten in Group B and have five points from three games.
The Burkina Faso side, on the other hand, are yet to taste victory in the Confederations Cup and have two points from three matches.
In the end the visiting Burkina Faso side was happy with a point and will look forward to a re-match against Sfaxien next week Sunday, March 3 at home in the Confederation Cup.
